In this joyous season of Pascha, St. Mary of Egypt is continuing its charitable outreach under the name of “St. Mary of Egypt Orthodox Mission and Chapel.” Since its founding in 1992, St. Mary of Egypt has operated under several different names, including “Orthodox Women’s Sanctuary” (1992-1997), “Orthodox Mission” (1997-2000), “Orthodox Mission & Monastery” (2000-2005), and most recently, “Orthodox Monastery” (2005-2014). Over a 22-year period, St. Mary of Egypt has consistently retained the stated foundational purpose of offering charitable service to the stranger and those in need in the name of Christ. Our volunteers are committed to carrying on +Mother Theonymphie’s legacy. The new name of “Orthodox Mission and Chapel” reflects the continuance of our ministry to the poor and commitment to Eastern Orthodox Christian worship. |
